How to join a Skype for Business meeting
Online language teaching using Skype for Business (SfB)
A client’s representative or a student creates a recurring event with a generated link to join the online room. Invitation will be sent to all other students’ and a teacher’s calendars or emails.
Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox
Apple and Safari browsers are not supported!
It is not possible to join such a meeting via normal Skype. It is only possible to use SfB application (internal employees) or Web App Skype for Business (a teacher and employees using non-company PC or laptop).
1) The preview of the received invitation may vary, depending on the client’s email. Always choose Skype Web App.
Gmail+Outlook – the invitation is displayed as a link.
In the Seznam email the link is not formatted and must be copied to a new browser window. Do not copy the brackets enclosing the link, only the link must be copied!

Note: If you see the following message, inform the organizer - link does not work and a new meeting must be created.
2) Joining a meeting may vary graphically, depending on the browser and OS Windows version. The process is always the same!
Connecting via a web browser - Skype Web App. When connecting for the first time, you may be asked to install the necessary plug-in for your browser: Skype for Business.
Do not try to connect using Skype for Business or Lync client – only for students on a company PC/laptop.
The subsequent plug-in installation may be done depending on the browser and Windows version:
A) automatically in the background
B) manual installation

- click I want to instal Skype Meetings Web App…
- click Launch Skype Meetings App in the pop-up window
- you can then enter the online room
B) Manual plug-in installation
1) click I want to install Skype Meetings Web App…
2) click Launch
3) allow Join the meeting
4) enter the online room
5) Allow SfB communication in public or private networks
3) You are connected to the meeting. After connecting, the camera and microphone are muted - they must be switched on.
4) If you need to set up your camera or microphone, you can do so in the Settings, Meeting options...
