THE 100% REPLACEMENT PROGRAMME
What is the 100% Replacement Programme? The aim of the entire project is to develop processes that will lead students to more consistently replace cancelled lessons with their teachers. Of course, we must find a solution for when a teacher cannot find a suitable replacement date with the students or simply does not want to do so. However, we believe that due to the nature of the relationship between students and teachers, we will be able to achieve the desired goal.
Who is part of the 100% Replacement Programme? Most of our clients decided to join the 100% Replacement Programme- however, there are individual exceptions. All courses that are part of the programme are marked with an (S) in the name of the course- this is how you can immediately tell whether or not replacement of all the scheduled lessons is required.
What languages are involved in the 100% Replacement Programme? The programme applies to English, German and Czech courses only.
How does this work in practice? Should the student(s) or teacher cancel a lesson in advance, it is necessary to choose an appropriate replacement date that will take place within 30 days from the date of the cancelled lesson. All communication regarding the cancellation of lessons and replacement dates takes place via the administrative interface of Schoolpartner which is adapted for daily use. Should the teacher not be available for a replacement lesson, the student(s) will get other opportunities to replace the cancelled lesson. The obligation to replace all of the lessons in-advance cancelled does not apply to the teacher, it applies only to the student(s). The client will be charged for the planned number of lessons, should the cancelled lessons be replaced or not.
Step by step:
Student(s) or teacher cancels the lesson.
Teacher offers student(s) 1-3 options for rescheduling the lesson. If the teacher cannot or does not want to schedule a replacement lesson, they select that option. Should the teacher have agreed on a replacement lesson with the student(s) via a different method (e.g. in person/via email), they enter the agreed time and date with the “agreed” sign.
Student(s) react to the offered dates by selecting either “yes” or “no”- they have 48 working hours to do so. The system then confirms the chosen date.
a) Should the student(s) and teacher find a suitable date and time, the replacement lesson takes place. For replacement lessons, we recommend sticking to online teaching.
b) Should the student(s) and teacher not find a suitable replacement date, two options are available. Students in individual courses can choose between a telephone lesson format with their teacher and one of a selection of open lessons for our in-company students. Our students in group courses will (for obvious reasons) only be able to attend one of the open lessons.
What are open lessons for in-company students? This is a new format that students are offered in the case that they cannot have a replacement lesson with their own teacher. Open lessons take place for levels A1-C1 on predetermined topics in English, German and Czech. We regularly rotate topics so that students can choose exactly what they would like; in the lesson they will meet another teacher and students that they very likely will be meeting for the first (and only) time. We very much expect that these open lessons will be a solution for students unable to reschedule a cancelled lesson and not something that will become deliberately sought-after.
What is the replacement phone call? This format is available only for our students in individual lessons. It takes place at the dates and times the teacher agrees with their student, via two 15 minute phone calls. The rate for the two phone calls (2x 15mins) is the same as for the cancelled lesson. The student can specify what topic they would like to focus on- however, even without this information they will get the opportunity to practise a format of communication that is not often focused on. Since each of the two calls takes 15 minutes, it might fit even the busiest of our students.
