THE LANGUAGE CATALOGUE FROM THE STUDENT'S PERSPECTIVE
What does the student see?
There are two types of lessons students can choose from - topic-based lessons (general language) and skills-based lessons (business language).
In both cases, the lessons have a set topic and they are relevant to their language level. The students can read the description of each lesson in Schoolpartner so that they have a general idea of what vocabulary, grammar, and skills they will focus on. In addition, the students can watch a short video introduction of the topic.
Unfortunately, we cannot be more specific about the content of a particular lesson as it always depends on the individual students who join the lesson.
What will the students gain from the lesson?
The catalogue lesson is not (and cannot be) designed to replace a regular lesson with their own teacher. However, the student will get the opportunity to practice using the target language in a slightly different and more challenging environment; with a different teacher and new fellow students. This disrupts the established routine of the regular lessons in which the students already feel completely comfortable - but our experienced catalogue teachers ensure that no matter how new the situation is for the student, the foundation of a safe learning environment remains.
How should a student choose a lesson?
The student can choose a lesson based on their time/topic preference. We can’t stress enough that students choose a lesson as soon as possible because as the time passes, the offer of lessons decreases proportionally.
Can the teachers see the Language Catalogue?
Unfortunately, they can’t. The Language Catalogue varies and is displayed in a personalised way to each student.
